My friend Becky recommended Ruth Ozeki’s The Book of Form and Emptiness to me.
I have found books narrated from the POV of a protagonist with some sort of psychologically atypical condition (eg, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) can lean a little too heavily on the novelty of exploring that POV, but I gotta say this was a pretty solid story on top of the unique POV.
It reminded me a bit of Forrest Gump.
